Pet Hydration System: Designing For Trust Before Features

Trust Is The Feature

If a pet hydration system needs constant manual checking, it failed the one job it had. That was the design constraint that shaped everything else. No feature creep. Focus on basics: detect water level correctly, alert at the right threshold, make refill and cleaning easy enough that someone actually does it regularly.

Designed For Normal People

The part that matters long-term is maintenance behavior. A system can work perfectly in testing and still fail in real use if cleaning it is annoying or if sensor placement causes false reads. I tried to design for lazy real behavior, not careful lab behavior. The difference between a useful thing and an abandoned thing is usually just friction.
