Robot Vacuum Repair: Diagnose Before Ordering Parts

Outside-In Diagnosis

This repair had multiple symptoms and the easy reaction would have been to start ordering replacement parts. Instead I worked through it staged: airflow first, then brushes and wheels, contacts, sensors. Go deeper only if the outer checks do not identify the issue.

That felt slower for the first twenty minutes. Then it became obviously faster. Most issues were maintenance-level clogs or worn brushes, not component failures. Staged diagnosis means fewer wasted parts and a cleaner explanation of what was actually wrong.

Notes Are Worth As Much As The Repair

Repair is mostly process, not drama. One thing that makes repeat service work better is writing down what you found and what you changed. The next similar job takes half the time because you are not starting from scratch. Good notes are not admin overhead. They are professional value.
