ntfy And Calendar Flow: Better Timing, Not More Alerts
What This Is
I do not need more notifications. I need better-timed ones with enough context to act on them. That was the whole reason for connecting ntfy and my calendar. One clean trigger window per event, with the actual context attached, instead of a stream of ambient noise.
Why Most Reminder Systems Fail
The problem with most reminder setups is that they optimize for volume instead of relevance. Every reminder gets treated as urgent, so eventually nothing feels urgent. Old reminders pile up and the system becomes guilt-tracking rather than action-prompting. I killed that by keeping three defaults: one for class, one for client work, one for personal maintenance. Each has a single trigger window and removes itself when the event passes.
